Friday I interviewed all day to fill my position when I graduate in 67 days (ahh crazy!)
We had 14 interviews, I participated in 11 of them before I had to leave to catch my flight & was overall extremely unimpressed. I don't know how some of these people made it to Interview Days especially given how incredibly competitive it was this year. I would only accept 3, mayyyybe 4 of the 11 I interviewed into HESA let alone fill my shoes. There were a lot of super cocky tools with canned blanket one size fits all salesman answers, & a variety of other train wrecks. Thankfully the good ones were REALLY good but gosh almighty were the bad ones bad.
My flight to FL on Friday was a mess. Both flights from CT to Maryland, and Maryland to Tampa were jam packed, and I had the pleasure of being severely hit on by the schmuck who sat next to me the entire flight to Tampa. He was even going to Brandon, the town where my sister lives, what are the chances? Thank goodness for free drink coupons from Southwest, that's all I have to say. At one point, he said "Oh you were a psyc major, so what are you thinking about me right now?" hahahaha I've never bitten my tongue more.
Kayla's birthday weekend was a blast. She got all sorts of awesome princessy dress up stuff (seriously, why didn't they have half this stuff when I was growing up? I had to get creative and use dance costumes all the time!). Here are some of my fav pics from the weekend:

After the party we went to the mall where I definitely bought the rest of the Saved by the Bell Series, and Fraggle Rock Seasons 1 & 2 on DVD b/c FYE had them "buy 1 get 1 free". I also found out when I pre-order the limited edition 2-disc Twilight DVD I get pictures and other fun stuff, whoot can't wait for March 20th for that, and the release of "I love you man". Speaking of movies real quick, "Phoebe in Wonderland" is the story of my life and what went on in my head as a child and why I love and identify with "Alice in Wonderland" so much. I can't wait for it to come out. ps Love that Oneonta alum Bill Pullman is in this!
We also went to the special "walking company" store where I bought orthotic inserts for my sneakers to compensate for my freakishly high arches and supernating feet that cause me incredible pain in my feet and ankles. I can't even begin to tell you how much these things have already changed my life and I've only had them for a day! Kayla being the hyperfeminine 3 yr. old that she is was parading around the store trying on every shoe they had, from high heels to her very first and last (if I have anything do say about it) pair of Uggz haha:
That night Kayla, Roey, and I had a slumber party and it was fabulous. The best part was waking up to Kayla morning tickles and puppy kisses which I'm pretty sure is my favorite thing in the whole wide world. Here's a pic of Roey and her snuggled up:
Overall it was a great time but a disaster trying to come home. My flight last night was cancelled at the last minute due to the snow storm, and so I got a flight for this morning with a layover in Maryland, both of which had extremely high chances of being cancelled too b/c this was when the storm was at its peak. Magically both my flights took off and landed in their proper destination, though I was convinced I was going to be trapped in Maryland when we sat on the runway for over an hour. I would have been royally fucked if this were the case b/c the next available flight wasn't until Wednesday. I've never been so happy to be back in the state of Connecticut.
ps This PostSecret truly resonated with me. I was that kid for most of my life, and spent most lunches, study halls, etc. in the library volunteering with them and reading books, at the nurse faking sick. Come junior high & high school I became a part of the "in crowd" but eventually realized I was pretending to be someone I wasn't and avoided that whole scene again by spending all my free time in the preschool I worked at as part of class my junior and senior year.
pps after I got home from my hectic journey I was excited to see a card from Cassie on the counter. Inside it read:
"Faith means not needing to see where you're going to know you'll get there safely. Even though you can't see what lies ahead, please know you already have what you need to come out of this an even stronger and better person than you already are."
How timely and perfect. I love her and snail mail
