It's in the photograph of love

"We don’t make a photograph just with a camera, we bring to the act of photography all the books we have read, the movies we have seen, the music we have heard, the people we have loved."

— Ansel Adams

Soooo everyone and their mother decided to start blogging this week which served as a stark reminder that I have neglected this outlet of my life for months now. This is my 1st blog since July however I won't even give it the justice of being a true blog, as really it's just me highlighting some of my favorite quotes and pics from the Tumblr account I distracted myself with this summer while unemployed, disillusioned, and in need of an escape from my head every once and a while via the art of photo, quotes, lyrics, and music (aka my personal brand of therapy). I promise I'll write a legit blog very soon, however I decided to be a wino tonight so I'll hold my thought till a future date when my head is clearer.

“A photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you.”
— Brigitte Bardot

"…make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty."

— Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild

"The world is full of ugly things that you can’t change.. pretend it’s not that way...that’s my idea of faith."

— Ben Folds

“I’m saying open up and let the rain come pouring in. Wash out this tired notion that the best is yet to come. But while you’re dancing on the ground don’t think of when you’re gone. Love, what more is there? We need the light of love in here. Don’t beat your head, dry your eyes, let the love in there. There’s bad times but that’s okay. Just look for love in it and don’t burn the day away.

What point could there be troubling? Head down wondering what will become of me? Why concern what we cannot see?”

~Dave Matthews Band

“Faith means not needing to see where you’re going to know you’ll get there safely. Even though you can’t see what lies ahead, please know you already have what you need to come out of this an even stronger and better person than you already are.”

“I’ve always liked the time before dawn because there’s no one around to remind me who I’m supposed to be, so it’s easier to remember who I am.” ~Brian Andreas
