Sooo Friday after work a bunch of us went back to Sneaker's, the sketch townie bar to celebrate Drew's bday. It was super low key in comparison to the last week, I think it was just a rough week for everyone, and the weather didn't help with peoples moods either. Then I came home and had a hot date with the remains of the pumpkin cake I made, and the Presidential Debates. They were ridiculous, argued like 2 year olds, McCain spewed absurd lies the whole time and snickered to himself, all while NEVER moving his neck which really weirds me out. I'm convinced he's a robot made my Bush and his cronies. I passed out on the couch well before midnight b/c I am old and lame now.
Saturday I did a whole lot of nothing all day, I organized stuff on my computer, cleaned, worked out, then got completely obsessed with downsizing the ridiculous amount of facebook albums I have. I am extremely obsessive once I start a project or new thing in case you haven't noticed this about me yet. Since yesterday I now have 20 less albums, I want to get down to close to 100 albums (I had 161ish). I'm deleting duplicates or gross/inappropriate/unnecessary pics. Crissy wasn't home so no one was here to see or call me out on how ridiculous I was being in spending I'm not even going to say how many hours on this, but I have obsessive tendencies. Always have. Always will. At least I'm not taking it out in the form of eating like I did my senior year.
Saturday night I went out to eat at a local restaurant with Hoween, a coworker at Housing Services. I refrained from ordering the tempting eggplant and black olive calzone that would have made me extremely uncomfortable and sick for the remainder of the night and had a yummy artichoke and walnut salad with a mango margarita, yummm. After dinner we headed to campus for the Ben Folds concert. Missy Higgins opened for him, she's PHENOMENAL. Like a mix of A Fine Frenzy, Ingrid Michaelson, and Ryan Adams. Check her out. Then Ben Folds came out. They played a kick ass hour of "new shit" which comes out this Tuesday and I can't wait. It's soooo good. He's such an amazing energetic and comical live performer. He had such funny comebacks for the belligerent rude drunk kids in the audience. To compliment the music he had entertaining images playing on the backscreen. For a few songs he had people on stage wearing giant smiley faces, and for the "Frown" song these same people walked around with giant frowns haha. Here's a pic:
His new single is with Regina Spektor, LOVE IT! When he came back out they played about a half hour of old stuff, and I forgot how much I love him! I lost alot of his music when my cd's got stolen at the same time my computer crashed and I've been missing out! He conducted the audience in singing the accompaniment for "Not the Same", in 3 different octaves. I had goose bumps! I bought the live album just to be able to experience that feeling again. After the show I decided to be old again and go home despite the many options I had. My main purpose for this was so I could wake up early and be super productive today... but the pressure headache and obsession with downsizing pics made this a moot point. I was also supposed to go to the wake for the woman who works in my building's husband who died in a car accident last week, but given my emotional mood today, and my extreme discomfort with death in general, I don't think I would have kept it together which would have been uncomfortable since I barely know her and never met him.
I'm really excited to go to Oneonta for Halloween/Dean's 21st. And I have even more reason for excitement... Fong texted me the other night to tell me that Straylight Run is performing there that Thursday!!!! So I got over my ethical dilemma, and decided to skip work on Friday and zip over to O-Town right after class on Thurs. YAYAYAY
Okay, I really need to start prepping for my midterm now. I've put it off .... oh all weekend.
ps The entertainment industry REALLY loves me lately. As I already shared in one of my last posts, the Muppets are coming back on the scene, Peter Pan is going to be on Broadway, AND I JUST FOUND OUT that Tim Burton will be recreating Alice in Wonderland, and Johnny Depp has signed on to be the Mad Hatter. I'm SO EXCITED I COULD PEE MYSELF.
