My own version of "Things I Love Thursday"

So before I begin tackling yet another paper I wanted to take some time to decompress, and remember all the things that made me extremely happy this week since its very easy to slip into being stressed and cranky because I've barely worked out this week and sorta hate myself for it, I'm burnt out with all the non-stop emails and meetings with ridiculously needy students, who as Crissy so amusingly put, think us advisors are WIZARDS, UConn suffered a tragic student death that occurred oddly enough at the same time Barack was announced President at an election party on campus (she had a pre-existing heart condition)... So with that being said onto things I love about this week:

1. "Courage is a triumph of the soul. And for the first noticeable time in quite a while, America’s got soul." ~Jason Mraz

For serious, I'm obsessed with Mr. Mraz, he's the surefire way to make me smile no matter the mood I'm in, so much so that after he posted this pic I was motivated to comment on his freaking blog as if we're friends. Yup, I've reached that level of fanaticism:

Yay Obama! John Stewart (another love of my life) and I got to share this experience together and both were so overwhelmed with joy we cried (my tears weren't on national TV but yanno haha)

This is the 1st day of our lives in a new world... (this one goes out to you Cleary)

2. MY BUNKY BREWSTER-PANTS JENN GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL! Syracuse just got a whole lot sexier!

3. This website: http://zaproot.com/

4. My friend Lauren who is uber talented, check out her blog to see her amazing artwork: http://lpimages.blog.com/

This is one of my favs:

5. My roomie being wicked silly and ridiculous sometimes and making me laugh

6. I get to see my sister, Aunt, Uncle, and Fuzz Buzz on Monday!!!

7. It's SO almost the weekend and I CANNOT wait

8. Creative people who do things like this:

The end. Off to watch the rest of John Stewart who is totally on his game tonight and start this paper.

ps the beautiful man (who through my stalker abilities I've realized was an all-star football player and scholar at UConn while he was an undergrad who won all sorts of impressive awards, etc.) in my Cross-Cultural Counseling class who myself, Rita, and basically every other heterosexual woman with eyes is smitten with asked me to come to the Graduate Christian group he attends with him (which was apparently prompted by me sharing in class 2 weeks ago that I didn't practice a faith but identified most with the Eastern religions). I got very flustered and clearly could not say no to him. I'll be sure to report back, it shall definitely be enlightening either way and I'm always open to new experiences to further educate myself and broaden my horizons. I'm not sure if I should take this as a segway into a "date" or if he's just a thoughtful friendly guy. Thoughts? Either way, I emailed him to let him know I couldn't make it this Monday so he didn't think I blew him off and he replied and explained they more so talk about spirituality and it's open and encouraged for all faiths to attend, and it has a large social component as well. I'm actually excited about it now. The start of his email still leaves it open to interpretation as to his true motive for inviting me. Dunno, we shall see. Either way it's exciting and adds some rare and much needed spice to my life and pep in my step haha.
