M-I-C-K-E-Y M-A-R-A-T-H-O-N!

Brian, Dena, Matt, his nephew Sean, and Krissy awoke at 3:15am to get ready for the marathon. Our timeshare is much like my apt. in that you hear EVERYTHING so Rosie and I were awake until they left at 4:30. My alarm went off less than an hour and a half later and we were up and out the door by 7am headed to Disney to be their cheerleaders along the way!

We were on the sidelines at mile 9 by 8am, which gave us ample time to catch all of them based on their predictions. Matt appeared first, then Dena, and my 5 month pregnant kick-ass sister Krissy sporting her t-shirt which said "I'm pregnant and tired so go around us". Here's a pic:

Rosie and I stood around for quite a while worried about Brian and perplexed as to how he could possibly be that far behind even Krissy... until we got the text-message alert informing us that Brian was WAY ahead. We then booked it to the Polynesian stop convinced we would see Brian at mile 12.... again we were mistaken, but we got to cheer on Matt, Dena, and Krissy again. It was so inspirational to see the sea of over 30,000 people from all over the world of all shapes and sizes and conditions, and the creativity in some peoples t-shirts and costumes was just great. We saw Santa, a Spice Girl, etc. There was a team called "Run for our sons" of fathers pushing their wheel-chair bound sons!!! Us cheerleaders were awesome, cheering on those who passed by with such vigor even if we didn't know them, the energy was just contagious! While Roey and I were very excited Brian was doing so well with 11 minute miles, and was over 40 minutes ahead of his expected pace we were bummed we missed him twice and wouldn't see him now until he was approaching the finish line. Here's Roey and I at mile 12:

We had a large chunk of time to kill between mile 12 and 26 so we frollocked around the resorts, did some shopping, etc. and tried on silly hats such as these:

Then we booked it to the finish line when we got the text that Brian was expected to finish by 11:30am, over an hour ahead of his expected finish time. We waited for a while b/c Brian fell behind with bathroom breaks, etc. but when he appeared before us less than 6 hours before his start time this surge of emotion engulfed Rosie and I and we screamed our hearts out then ran our asses off toward the finish line to try and meet him which turned into a disaster b/c we didn't arrange a meeting point, he didn't have his cell phone and it was a sea of people. His brother eventually found him and we met up very anti-climacticly. We all then waited for Dena, Matt, and Krissy. I walked down to the sides to take pics, and somehow missed my pregnant sister run by me. I high-fived Dena and Matt as they passed me toward the finish line, then waited until the official race end time was up growing increasingly concerned for Krissy until Mom called freaked out b/c she got a text that Krissy finished but not Dena. I was incredibly confused as Dena had passed me a while ago, yet I never saw my prego Sissy. I called Rosie bewildered and she informed me that somehow Krissy snuck past me and she beat Dena and Matt like the badass she is, so I ran to meet up with them just in time to make it in the group photo:

We all then hobbled to the cars, (yes that's right me too b/c even though I didn't run a marathon running around the parks in flip flops was not a good life choice for my bad ankles!), went home & ate a long overdue lunch, then lounged by the pool, etc. for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we're going to find out the sex of the baby! Whoot!

Kayla-ism of note: Everybody is eddybody and Disney is Dinney/Dinsey
