Gassy

This morning was chaotic. I was at the gym with 2 minutes left of my workout before cooldown commenced when the employee tapped me on the shoulder to inform me of the firetruck that was outside, and the evacuation that was underway due to a gas leak. Yup, that's how in my own world I get when I'm working out, oblivious to mass chaos around me. Plus it was the mystery murder dinner episode of Saved by the Bell so I was completely enthralled in that. So I hopped off heart rate out of control with no time to cool down, or stretch, grabbed my bag then hopped my soaking wet ass in the car and sped back home to shower then and speed to work. Magically I was only like a minute late, don't ask me how.

My supervisor reviewed my resume and cover letter today and she gave me a surplus amount of amazing feedback, she's awesome. After work I went to Target with a list of sponges, contact solution for Crissy, wedding gifts for the Ultimates, a hamper, and a makeup mirror. I left with a new set of glasses, polarized prescription sunglasses, a beautiful scarf, tank top, scrapbook paper, scrapbooks & photo albums, gifts, contact solution, and no mirror. Target is never a get in get out with what you came for sorta adventure. This friendly guy that worked for Optical and was standing at the end of the aisle with a wicked Long Island accent kept looking at me with his spray bottle until I made eye contact and he offered to clean my glasses. I obvi took him up on it, and he then realized how ridiculously loose my frames were thanks to Kayla's obsession with ripping them off my face with mighty force. I've been wanting to get new frames for a while now, and with my refund check newly deposited I have wiggle room again. Since he's from NY I knew he'd understand my Medicaid health insurance questions and he explained that since I don't need an exam it would probably cost less to get glasses from Target with all their sales then it would be to go to GVS which I loathe because of their horrible selection and service. I was sold, plus both he and the girl who helped me with trying on nearly every pair were probably the friendliest employees I've ever met who just LOVED their job and helping people find the perfect fit of a frame. I'm really happy with my selection, pics to come in 7-10 days when they arrive.

Now I'm doing laundry and organizing shit, I think I'll give Grey's another chance this week as it does look appealing. I'm super pumped to go to Albany this weekend with Mary and surprise Colin, and hopefully see Took, Hannah, Becky, and Josh as well!

For now I'll leave you with this lil' bud of hope in tough economic times. Apparently my fallback plan to work at Starbuck's if I don't land a job in student affairs is a solid and popular choice according to CNN. It's the story of a former hot shot exec who used to make multiple figures who lost his job and wife and now works at Starbuck's fucking up drinks and scrubbing toilets but apparently loves his job. Just goes to show how horrible the corporate world is if this guy is truly happy here.
