So, Thursday I got molds taken for the flipper for my upper jaw (basically an invisible retainer with a fake tooth on it as I'm missing my right canine), so on Wednesday, March 11th when I pick them up I'll never be a metal mouth again.
Friday I head to the city for 2 doctor appts. Teresa, being the amazing gal she is accompanied me as I was pretty nervous about meeting with my dermatologist b/c it could have went very well or very bad. Thankfully it went VERY well and all the hullabulloo and fear Dr. Rogers the eye doctor instilled in me was a false alarm and for now I am cancer free!!! So my dermatologist removed a skin cancer from my chest and sent me on my way with a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders. Then I met with a surgeon to learn more about breast reduction surgery. Essentially, if insurance can't cover it it ain't happening as it would cost approx. $15,000. So they took photos and I have to call back at the end of this week to see if my insurance will help with the cost. After all that it was about 2pm & Teresa and I were about to eat each other we were so hungry so off we went to Blockhead's, a yummy Mexican restaurant to calm her sudden need for guac. Here's a pic:
Then she took me to The Container Store where I could barely contain myself (sorry for the shameless pun) as it was my dream. Some of my fav purchases includes scrapbook pages for binders that will forever change my scrapbooking life for the better, a spinny glass case earring holder much like display cases in stores, & hangers for pants & skirts that allow you to easily store multiple pieces of clothing on 1 hanger! Seriously, if you haven't been here GO.
Then I met up with David at his hot shot big boy job at Wenner Media (i.e. Rolling Stone, US Weekly, etc.). It was super intense and I had to pass thru 8 kajillion security checks. My fav part was the neverending wall/hallway of Rolling Stones covers from the first to the current. I could have spent hours in that hallway. We got some cosmo's and caught up and it was so great to see him! Then I head back to CT.
Saturday I woke up super tired from my day of gallavanting in NY city to take on another major city, Boston. (Looking back, this wasn't the best life choice, 2 major cities in 2 days with the crap ankles I have but oh well, I had no control over it). Hoween and I met Jaci and Andy at Curry College (where Andy is an RD) then we took the T into Boston where they were our tour guides. We had a fabulous lunch at Quincy Market where I truly indulged in organic veggie mac & cheese in a bread bowl (it was carbtastic comfort food!!!). We hit up all the major landmarks, meandered around shops, went to the Holocaust Memorial, & the Gardens to see the brass ducks, then had drinks & apps at the Beantown Pub. Here's some pics:
Then Hoween and I head off to the Orpheum Theatre to see Ryan Adams & the Cardinals. It was a phenomenal show, he played almost all my favorites, tho I was fighting with all my might to stay awake at this point & definitely took a power nap during the intermission. The guy next to me was only there for his girlfriend so he magically slept thru the whole concert, I was pretty impressed by this as it was VERY noisy. Afterward we met up with Hoween's friends for drinks. I fought like hell to stay awake, & definitely caused a HUGE scene in the schwanky restaurant/lounge in a ritzy hotel we went to. Her friend was imitating the crazy noise his cat makes and while laughing my leg jerked and caused the table to tilt & all the glasses went flying and shattering to the floor. Yup, great first impression, I am Amelia Bedelia. We caught the last T train and didn't get home till 3am. When I deliriously stumbled in I was really confused cuz Crissy said she'd be sleepin on the couch but she is so compact and was curled up so it took a few seconds before I realized she was even on the couch haha. I was amused by this. I was hurting this morning and my ankle was FUCKEDDDD. I hopped around most of the day, it's gotten better but I was in rough shape this morning. Mary came over for the day and we did hw, laundry, and grocery shopping like a cute 90 year old couple. I made us a yummy tempeh and broccoli pasta dinner with vodka sauce too!
